Evil Union Presidents and Mr. T. Talk!
I love reading about the Washington, DC, government schools -- they are a glowing example to us all. The former administration of the Washington Teachers' Union is on trial for embezzlement; in the trial of the former administrative assistant to the [evil] president the defense lawyer said about the [evil] president: "I pity the fool who has the nerve to ask this woman about her spending." Mr. T. Lives!

The funniest thing about the whole story was how the embezzlers got caught. After they had stolen so much money that the union could no longer afford its office rent, one of these crooks proposed raising dues from $16 per paycheck to $160 per paycheck, as if no teacher would either mind or notice a 1000% increase. That--and apparently not questions about whether teachers' union officials should have fur coats and chauffeurs--was what triggered the audit.
.....beautiful!! Thank you for that illuminating bit of information. --MCT

Isn't it the case that Washington DC has among the highest per-student spending in the country? And highest teacher's salaries?
